Volodymyr Zelensky initiated the creation of the Presidential University, which will train specialists of the future. This became known at the All-Ukrainian Forum "Ukraine 30. Education and Science".
In particular, the head of state signed decree No. 217/2021 "Issues of the Presidential University project". This document marks the start of the Presidential University project, which should become a modern innovative educational and scientific center that, in particular, will ensure the training of leaders for strategic branches of the state's development, ready for the challenges of the modern, changing world.
"This is an institution of higher education that will prepare people of the future. It will bring together the best teachers in one place and will train specialists who will be able to solve important tasks for the protection of our state in very important, priority, most relevant directions - the directions of present and tomorrow's challenges," Zelensky said in the decree.
It is assumed that the educational process at the Presidential University will be built on the basis of specialties that form the basis of the 6th technological order, form scientific and technical progress and allow training of professionals of the highest level. These are information technologies, cyber security and artificial intelligence, nanotechnology, aerospace, energy technologies, biotechnology and health sciences, globalization and international communications.
In addition to providing professional knowledge, the university will ensure the balanced development of the student as a person capable of implementing his scientific and technical developments and entrepreneurial initiatives.
The best graduates will be selected for the university. The first batch will consist of 120 people (six sent to 20 students each), and in the next five years their number should increase to 600.
The best Ukrainian specialists will be attracted to teaching at the university; the most modern methods will be used (key principle: 30% theory and 70% practice). Foreign teachers and experts will also be involved in the educational process.
The organization of guaranteed employment of university graduates is planned, in particular in leading state companies, research and scientific institutions, and central authorities.
The state and university partners will guarantee national and international internships for students. It will be possible to compensate the cost of training by the employer.
The university, the state and partner businesses will provide students with the realization of scientific developments and their further commercialization.
"Our goal is the best conditions, the best teachers, the best students from all over Ukraine who will study for free and then work in the country. Work - here, realize - here, in Ukraine, for the benefit of our state, for the protection of every Ukrainian," Zelensky emphasized.
