The Odessa Aviation Plant will produce licensed assembly of American Iroquois helicopters. The director of the Ukroboronprom state concern Yury Gusev told about this during a visit to the enterprise.
Bell UH-1 "Iroquois" helicopters will be produced both for export and for the domestic market. According to him, they are indispensable for the transportation of goods and the performance of combat tasks.
American helicopters will be produced in one of the workshops of the Odessa Aviation Plant. It is noteworthy that the designers promise to assemble the first "Iroquois" by the 30th anniversary of the Independence of Ukraine, by August 2021.
"Iroquois" is one of the most famous and popular machines in the history of helicopter construction. It has been serially produced in the USA since 1960, a large number of military and civilian modifications have been produced - more than 16 thousand copies in total. He took an active part in numerous wars of the United States, including Vietnam.
