Ukraine has tightened the rules for entering the country

The 14-day isolation is back.

The government is introducing new rules for crossing the border due to the new strain of Delta coronavirus, in particular, PCR testing is returning. On Wednesday, July 28, the head of the Ministry of Health, Viktor Lyashko, announced this during the government meeting.

He noted that an outbreak of a new virus is observed in Russia. In order to prevent the spread of Delta in Ukraine, the rules will be tightened.

The Cabinet of Ministers also obliged all unvaccinated people entering the country from Russia and India to undergo mandatory 14-day self-isolation.

"Unvaccinated foreigners or Ukrainians who arrived from the Russian Federation and India will be subject to personal control. If they spent the last seven days before crossing the border in these countries, they will be subject to mandatory self-isolation or observation for 14 days without the possibility of early termination," said the minister.

to enter Ukraine, foreigners must present a negative PCR test result and an insurance policy.

Also, the new rules assume that:

  • Ukrainians who left the country before the publication of the document will be able to return under the same rules.
  • Ukrainians will be able to cross the border freely if they have received at least one vaccination against the coronavirus.
  • if the person has not been vaccinated, he will be offered to install the "Home" application and go into 14-day self-isolation. The application will start monitoring the location 72 hours after installation, if there is no negative result of the PCR test during this time.
