The decision to stop flights was made at an extraordinary meeting of the government on behalf of President Volodymyr Zelenskyi.
In addition, Ukrainian airlines and aircraft will be prohibited from flying in the airspace of the Republic of Belarus.
The State Border Service also received an order to stop the registration of passengers coming from or to Belarus at airport customs points.
"The situation with the forced landing of the Ryanair plane in Minsk is a violation of the Convention on International Civil Aviation. Our government's decision is aimed at ensuring the safety of flights and passengers," Shmyhal said.
As a reminder, on May 23 at the Minsk airport they urgently landed a Ryanair plane traveling from Athens to Vilnius and detained the former editor of the Belarusian opposition channel Nexta Roman Protasevich.
