During 2021, Ukraine rose from 37th to 35th place in the world passport ranking. This is evidenced by the World Passport Index data published on Tuesday, January 11 for the first quarter by Henley & Partners.
Ukraine was able to improve its position by concluding an agreement on visa-free access with the French overseas territories and Oman.
Now Ukrainian passport holders can travel without a visa or with a visa on arrival to 141 countries of the world.
The leaders of the rating are Singapore and Japan, whose passports share the first place in the Index (192 visa-free destinations). Germany and South Korea share second place with visa-free access to 190 countries.

At the same time, Russia and the CIS countries practically did not change their positions. Movements in the rating were provided by changes in the positions of other countries. Russia gained visa-free access to Pakistan and moved from 51st to 46th place in the ranking. Holders of a Russian passport can travel to 119 countries without a visa.
The Republic of Belarus is in 65th place, Kazakhstan is in 68th place, Azerbaijan is in 74th place, Armenia is in 78th place. All these countries rose slightly in the ranking due to the conclusion of visa-free agreements with Oman. During the reporting period, Georgia did not conclude agreements on visa-free travel with other countries and occupies the 48th place with visa-free access
in 115 states and territories of the globe.
