Residents of Ukraine expect a step-by-step increase in electricity tariffs. The decision will be made step by step: first of all, the price of a kW per hour may increase from UAH 1,68 to UAH 2,2. In general, the tariff will most likely increase to UAH 3. About this said former Minister of Energy and Environmental Protection Aleksey Orzhel.
The government once again did not decide to cancel the mechanism providing for compensation for energy-generating companies - the provision on special obligations (PSO).
"Now it is planned to extend the effect of PSO for another 2 months - such a project of the government's decision is being considered. This means unchanged tariffs for the population, which today are also unchanged on the basis of PSO," he noted.
How much will electricity cost?
"According to calculations, the price should be more than UAH 3 per kWh. However, it should be raised to 2-2,2 hryvnias per kWh so that the consumer can gradually accept such increases," the ex-minister predicted.
At the moment, one has to pay UAH 1,68 for each kWh.
