US prosecutors brought new charges against ex-shareholders of PrivatBank Igor Kolomoiskyi and Gennady Bogolyubov for misappropriating the bank's funds to buy real estate in the state of Ohio. About this сообщает Reuters.
It is noted that earlier similar charges were brought by the US Ministry of Justice on real estate in the states of Kentucky and Texas.
Igor Kolomoisky denies the accusations of the prosecutor's office, and the oligarch's lawyer in the USA, Bruce Marks, has not yet provided a comment to the publication. Neither Bogolyubov nor his representatives commented on the matter.
The US Ministry of Justice claims that the oligarchs illegally appropriated Privatbank's funds for the purchase of real estate in the state of Ohio. Prosecutors note that from 2008 to 2016, Kolomoisky and Bogolyubov illegally obtained credit lines from the bank, which were later laundered through the offshore Privatbank in Cyprus and transferred to the United States.
The total value of real estate in the three states is estimated at more than 60 million dollars.
Recall, that in August the US Ministry of Justice needed to confiscate from the oligarch Igor Kolomoiskyi an office tower in Louisville and an office park in Dallas, which he purchased with money illegally embezzled from PrivatBank.
