Starting today, businesses will be fined for clients without masks

The amount of the fine is from UAH 3400 to UAH 5100.

On January 14, the law on fines for businesses for the lack of masks for clients and staff, adopted in December, came into force in Ukraine.

The law was published in the official publication "Voice of Ukraine" the day before, January 13.

The amount of the fine is from 200 to 300 non-taxable minimum income of citizens (from 3400 UAH to 5100 UAH).

The business owner will have to pay a fine if he allowed customers or employees without masks or respirators into a public building, structure or public transport.

It is assumed that such norms will give business owners the motivation not to let clients who violate the mask regime into the premises. The resolution on the imposition of fines must be drawn up by authorized officials of territorial authorities.

In addition, in Ukraine, fines are already in effect even for violators of the mask regime. They are provided for by the law that came into force on November 21.

In this case, the fine ranges from UAH 170 to UAH 255. Citizens who are in a public place without means of protection must pay for it.
