"They do not carry any culture": concerts of Russian artists may be banned in Ukraine

Kondratyuk's petition collected more than 25 thousand signatures

Igor Kondratyuk, a showman and host of Karaoke on the Maidan, posted a petition demanding that concerts and performances by Russian artists be banned in Ukraine on the website of the President of Ukraine. As of today, she has received the necessary number of votes to be considered by the authorities.

The statement states that Russian artists "do not carry any culture" and support "aggressive actions of Russia" by their silence. The producer and TV presenter asks to ban concerts, tours and performances at festivals of Russian artists.

Kondratyuk believes that the vast majority of them either visit the occupied Crimea, or openly support the Kremlin's aggression, or are simply silent, which, in his opinion, also supports Russia's war with Ukraine.

"Music and other types of art from the aggressor cannot be outside of politics during war. Since they are considered a continuation of the war by other methods - methods to interest Ukrainians in the culture of the aggressor, from whose weapons thousands of Ukrainians died and only millions of forced migrants suffered," the showman said.

At the same time, Kondratyuk admitted that it is possible to make a white list (excluded list) for cultural representatives who "publicly oppose Russian aggression." Among them, he included, in particular, writer Viktor Shenderovych, actress Liya Akhedzhakova, and musician Andrey Makarevich.

"So, my petition collected 25 votes. Thanks to everyone who signed it. We are waiting for consideration by Zelensky. Let's see - what's easier: to criticize the predecessor for his "blood business" or to ban this and other criminal businesses with the aggressor of those whom you brought to power, Kondratyuk wrote on his Facebook page.

We will add that the petition was registered on September 21 and has already gained 25. 522 votes. Now it must be considered by President Volodymyr Zelensky.
