Research: young Europeans love the EU, respect the USA and dislike Russia

This is evidenced by the GLOBSEC Youth Trends research data.

Young people from the states of Central Europe position their countries somewhere between East and West. This is evidenced by the GLOBSEC Youth Trends research data.

In general, they have a positive attitude towards the EU. Thus, in the event of a referendum on exit, 7 out of 10 would prefer to remain in the European Union, and those who remained cited economic benefits and freedom of movement as an argument.

Also young Europeans:

they perceive the EU more positively than the USA or Russia, both from the point of view of the compatibility of their values with the EU, and from the point of view of assessing the behavior of the EU in the world;

they see the USA primarily as a rich, strong and powerful world player. Although the majority of young people in Central Europe do not perceive the USA as a threat to their country, the most common reason is that they do not believe that their countries are interesting enough for the USA;

are hostile to Russia. They tend to perceive Russia as a threat mainly because of its expansionist policy.

According to the study, young Poles are considered to be the most pro-American and most anti-Russian country, while young Slovaks remain the most pro-Russian and least pro-American country.
