Following long negotiations, the European Union made a principled decision to deploy an advisory and training military mission in Ukraine. This was reported by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmitry Kuleba, at a briefing following the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the EU in Brussels, in which he took part.
"We agreed today that the European Union will deploy an advisory and training military mission in Ukraine. The parameters of this mission and the timing of its deployment will be specified, but the principle decision has been made," Kuleba said.
He emphasized that this will be an important political signal about increasing the presence of the EU in Ukraine and the beginning of cooperation in the military sphere.
"I emphasize once again: the mission will be advisory and training, it is not a combat unit. But it is very important that this initiative has reached its conclusion. We worked for a very long time with our friends in the EU to make this happen," the minister emphasized.
