40-year-old Ukrainians should not count on a pension - the minister

The pace of population aging is such that the number of working people is decreasing, and the number of pensioners is increasing.

The generation of Ukrainians at the age of 40 should not count on a pension. About it in the interview Interfax-Ukraine Minister of Finance Sergey Marchenko said.

"And I, a forty-year-old, should not count on a pension in the current conditions," he said.

According to him, the only way out for Ukrainians is the accumulative pension system.

"The solidarity pension should be combined with the accumulative pension. If you don't have any savings in the NPF, you shouldn't count on a pension at all. The pace of population aging is such that the number of working people is constantly decreasing, while the number of pensioners is increasing. Then there are two options — either I look for opportunities myself and postpone through the NPF, or conditions are created for such accumulated savings for all citizens," says Marchenko.

Let's remind. that according to the study of the International Labor Organization, in 30 years more than 60% of elderly Ukrainians will not receive state pensions due to the lack of a real pension reform.
