Volodymyr Zelenskyy appointed a new Commander-in-Chief

He said that a new team is taking over the leadership of the army

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, has appointed Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrskyi as the new Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. That's what he's about informed in his official Telegram channel.

"From today, a new management team will take over the leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. I want the vision of the war to be the same for our soldiers in Robotyn or Avdiivka, and in the General Staff and Stavka." he said in his reply.

The President noted that he had dozens of conversations with commanders of various levels, in particular with Brigadier Generals Andriy Hnatov, Mykhailo Drapaty, Igor Skybyuk, and Colonels Pavel Palisa and Vadym Sukharevskyi.

"All of them are being considered for leadership positions in the army and will serve under the leadership of the most experienced Ukrainian commander. He has successful defense experience — he conducted the Kyiv defense operation. He also has a successful offensive experience — the Kharkiv liberation operation. I appointed Colonel-General Syrskyi as the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Today I spoke with Generals Moysyuk and Zabrodsky. Their experience is at the service of the state," — said Zelensky.

He believes that 2024 can be successful for Ukraine only if there are effective changes in the basis of defense.
