Air Force reported, that on August 25, a terrible plane crash occurred in Zhytomyr Oblast.
"During the execution of a combat mission in the sky near Zhytomyr, two L-39 combat training aircraft collided. 3 pilots of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were killed," the message reads.
Among the dead is a well-known pilot of the 40th tactical aviation brigade with the call sign "JUICE".
Preliminary qualification of the case – violation of flight rules or preparation for them (Article 416 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
An investigation has been launched
DBR already started a criminal case. Law enforcement officers will check whether the planes were in good condition and whether the rules of preparation for flights were followed. Specialists will diagnose "black boxes".
