The minister said that long-range missiles will allow the Ukrainian military to destroy the enemy's defenses, which will lead to defeat in the war.
Ukraine needs long-range missiles in order to destroy equipment and manpower of the occupiers at long distances, which will not allow the enemy to provide defense. At the same time, the Ukrainian military is ready to coordinate goals with international partners, stated the head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Oleksiy Reznikov, at a joint meeting of the government of Ukraine and the European Commission, reports Ukrinform.
Reznikov called on partners to help Ukraine with anti-missile defense as soon as possible and reminded that our country would like to receive Patriot and SAMP/T at the first opportunity along with the supply of new IRIS-T and NASAMS.
"If we had the opportunity to strike at a distance of 300 km, the Russian army would not be able to provide defense and would have to lose.
Ukraine is ready to provide any guarantees that your weapons will not be involved in attacks on Russian territory. We have enough targets in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine and are ready to coordinate targets with our partners," he said.
He noted that the success of Ukraine on the battlefield will also be the success of the whole of Europe.
"We expect this year to bring new opportunities... to win, we need to seize the strategic initiative," the minister said.
The minister also stated that the Ukrainian military is in need of heavy equipment and expressed gratitude for the decision made at Ramstein to supply tanks and other armored vehicles. He expressed confidence that this would create an armored fist and break through the defense of the occupiers.
The minister also noted that Ukraine needs to increase the number of artillery and projectiles that will allow to destroy the means of radio-electronic warfare and air defense of Russia.
