Today, January 24, a meeting between Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico took place in Uzhhorod.
"Today in Uzhhorod we are holding a meeting with the Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico. Our bilateral relations and support for European initiatives are on the agenda. We are counting on a constructive and practical dialogue." — reported in the Telegram of Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmygal.
Prime Minister Shmyhal said that the governments of Ukraine and Slovakia, despite their differences, intend to form a "new pragmatism" policy that will benefit both states.
Denys Shmyhal told the details of the meeting with the Prime Minister of Slovakia Fico
"Agreements were reached on a number of issues and we have specific agreements."
— The Government of Slovakia will not block Ukraine's purchase of weapons and equipment from Slovak businesses.
— We will cooperate in the issue of supplies from the Slovak company of equipment for the construction of defense lines.
— Slovakia will support the Ukraine Facility program, which provides for the allocation of 50 billion euros to Ukraine from the European Union.
— Prime Minister Fico assured me of his full support for Ukraine's European integration aspirations.
"Ukraine and Slovakia will continue fruitful cooperation for the sake of the security and prosperity of our countries. We are grateful to the Slovak people who are helping Ukraine and Ukrainians in these difficult times," — wrote Shmyhal.
