The former commander of the Polish Ground Forces, Waldemar Skzypchak, believes that Ukrainian refugees who left for Europe after the beginning of the Russian invasion on February 24 should be mobilized, trained in military affairs and sent to fight in Ukraine. "Together with NATO, we should start preparing new formations of the Ukrainian army - in Poland, Germany and France. Train those citizens of Ukraine who are here - mobilize, train, appoint, send to the front, because it is becoming more and more difficult for Ukraine," said the ex-commander, answering questions about the West's support for Ukraine.
As a historical example, Skrzypczak recalled the Polish emigrants who came to France at the beginning of World War II and were mobilized into the army.
"In France, in 1939 and 1940, we built an army of 80 people from emigrants and those who fled from Poland after the September defeat. soldiers And why not build such Ukrainian troops in Poland and send them to the front? This is a matter of intergovernmental agreements and it can be done, there is nothing to wait for," the general believes.
When the journalists replied that the Ukrainians who wanted to fight at the front were already there, the Polish general once again stated that the Ukrainians who had left must be mobilized.
“We are going to ask them if they want to be soldiers or not? It is necessary to mobilize, draft into the army and everything. I'm sorry to say this, but as a soldier, it hurts me that Ukraine is losing its chance with our participation," Skshipchak summed up.
