Offenders entered into official documents knowingly false information about the works performed and their cost, thus misappropriating UAH 3,8 million, official sites of both clubs report in the National Police.
Police investigators of Odesa found that a contract was concluded between the state energy enterprise and two private firms on the provision of services in the field of restoration of critical infrastructure of the energy industry.
Two contractors had to dismantle the electrical substation and electrical equipment from their location, transport and install them in another place within the Odesa region.
In the course of fulfilling the assumed obligations, the contractors unjustifiably overestimated the cost of the completed works and entered notoriously unreliable data in the acts of acceptance of the completed works, thereby causing losses to the state in the amount of almost UAH 3,8 million.
"In the course of the investigation, we collected enough evidence and informed both involved parties of the suspicion under Part 5 of Art. 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, i.e. in taking possession of someone else's property, by abusing an official's official position, committed repeatedly by a group of persons in a previous conspiracy, in conditions of martial law, in particularly large amounts, and according to Part 1 of Art. 366 of the same code - in official forgery, i.e. entering knowingly false information into official documents and issuing knowingly false official documents by an official. Offenders face imprisonment for a term of up to 12 years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of up to three years and confiscation of property. Currently, the issue of choosing a preventive measure in the form of detention is being resolved." — Roman Yalovy, the head of the department investigating crimes in the field of economic and official activity of the investigative department, said.
The measures were conducted by the employees of the SBU department in the Odesa region together with the investigators of the investigative department under the procedural guidance of the Odesa regional prosecutor's office.
