Who will be granted a reprieve from mobilization in Ukraine: the Council announced the full list

According to the new draft law, citizens from 10 categories can receive a postponement

People's deputy of Ukraine Maryana Bezugla shared that the Verkhovna Rada is working on a new draft law. For her post it became clear at Facebook that in 2024 mobilization in Ukraine will have new rules — not everyone will be able to avoid service.

Who has the right to deferment from mobilization in Ukraine

According to the new draft law, citizens from 10 categories can receive a deferment:

— Persons with disabilities.
— Parents of three or more children.
— If two servicemen have a child, one of them has the right to deferment and dismissal (male or female). If a woman chooses military service, a man can get a deferment.
— Minors with disabilities in the family.
— Incompetent adult children with disabilities/husbands or parents of spouses of 1-2 groups of disabilities (at the same time, a person with a disability independently chooses whom to grant a deferral).
— Guardians of incapacitated persons with disabilities of groups 1-3 recognized by the court.
— Pregnant women and women on maternity leave.
— Only current People's Deputies (the former ones were removed) — election to deputies is grounds for dismissal.
— Persons whose loved ones died or went missing during the anti-terrorist operation or resistance to armed aggression against Ukraine (spouses, children, parents, brothers or sisters).
— Students who have completed their first higher education after 30 years, scientists, full-time teachers. Postponement does not mean that these categories of citizens are not at risk of mobilization, they can only postpone service.

Who is entitled to deferment and dismissal from service

Conscript soldiers and those who have already been mobilized and completed their service will not be mobilized in Ukraine in 2023. However, after the release, the military will be able to rest only for 6 months, after which the mobilization process will resume for them according to an individual scheme.

It is important to note that you can be dismissed from service if:

- The man was captured.
— Has the rank of general by decision of the military leadership.
— Served 36 months during martial law.
— Citizens aged 18 to 25 who entered into a short-term contract during mobilization.
— In Ukraine, mobilization may affect police officers, employees of the Bureau of Economic Security and the penitentiary service — they are planned to be deprived of the right to deferment.
