Microsoft is preparing to launch a new version of Windows next year. According to the information published in the publication Commercial times, Windows 12 will be released already in June 2024 - it seems that work on the "twelve" is in an accelerated mode.
The source says that the coming year will be remembered for the rapid development of the field of computers with artificial intelligence. And the main reason for the growth of this industry will be the release of the new operating system Windows 12. According to the Commercial Times report, the biggest techno players such as Acer, MSI and Gigabyte are already looking at potential business opportunities.
The main feature of the new Windows will be tight integration with artificial intelligence systems, but it is not yet clear in what form, because even now Microsoft is actively adding AI-based functions to Windows 11 and even Windows 10. The new "Windows" will also actively integrate with cloud technologies, and in terms of design, it will be more similar to MacOS.
Previously, there was information that, in addition to the regular version, Windows 12 will also receive a lightweight version for devices with weak "iron". As expected, it will become a kind of answer to Chrome OS.
Windows 11 failed to achieve "popular" love
Statistics show that two years after its release, Windows 11 is installed on only 26% of devices. And this is despite the fact that Microsoft announced at the beginning of this year that it will stop releasing content updates for Windows 10.
Speaking about the popularity of Windows 11 among Ukrainian users, here the situation for Windows 11 is even more deplorable. At the moment, it is installed on only 13,77% of computers, and Windows 7, released almost 15 years ago, has a share of 7,2%.
It is indicative that Windows 11 is much more popular among gamers. The latest statistics from Steam showed that "eleven" is installed on 42% of gaming PCs and this number is constantly growing.
