The military counter-intelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine exposed large-scale embezzlement during the purchase of food products for the subdivisions of the State Border Service. This was reported in the SBU press center.
According to the experts, some of the goods did not meet the requirements, and losses have already been confirmed in only one of the purchases for 800. UAH The product has already been withdrawn from military units.
It was established that the illegal activity was organized by the head of a commercial structure from the Poltava region. The attacker created several controlled fictitious companies in the region. Through them, he supplied the military with low-quality products, and the money received from the budget went into the shadows.
During searches of the places of residence of the participants of the scheme, operatives found large quantities of food products of unknown origin prepared for sending to the military, as well as stickers, containers, seals and documentary materials with evidence of illegal activity.
Law enforcement officials informed the organizer of the transaction about suspicion under Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Employment, embezzlement of property or possession of it by abuse of service position).
