Analyst firm CIRP released a new report, which is dedicated to the reasons why Android owners switch to iPhone. The data is obtained from respondents from the USA.
In 2023, the share of those who switched from Android to iOS is at a five-year high, CIRP analysts found out. Here are the main reasons:
- The problem with the operation of Android - 53%. The old device performed poorly due to outdated software, needing repairs, or defects that ruined the "user experience."
- New features - 26%. These include an improved camera, expanded options for accessories or a more intuitive interface of the "apple" system.
- Price – 15%. While Android flagships cost less than iPhones, nearly a quarter of respondents said they would spend "less on a new iPhone than a similarly capable Android device."
- Communication with the community - 6%. These are users who switched to iPhone through Apple's iMessage and FaceTime messengers.
At the same time, it is worth noting that the study of the US market does not reflect global trends. In Ukraine, for example, the situation is completely different: 81% of Ukrainians "sit" on Android, while the share of Apple users is 19% - an increase of 2 percent over the year.
It is interesting that despite this distribution, Apple smartphones still rank 3rd in popularity in Ukraine, behind Samsung and Redmi. As for specific models, the most popular smartphone in Ukraine is the Redmi 9A, followed by the iPhone 11.
Meanwhile, the debut of the iPhone 15 line is less than four months away. All rumors and leaks point to the fact that we are in for the most expensive generation of iPhones in Apple's history - instead, users are in for a big update, including the appearance of periscope and USB-C.
