The ship of the Navy of Ukraine, which suffered a disaster in the waters of the Black Sea, was towed to Odessa. This was reported by the press service of the Navy of Ukraine.
8 units of marine equipment and 4 aircraft were involved in the operation.
The ship was accompanied by ships and boats of the Navy and the Maritime Search and Rescue Service. In the water area of the port, the ship was met by two tugboats, which helped the Navy ship to dock.
"Professional training of the personnel played a major role in the struggle for the ship's survivability, because the military must be ready for any emergency situations at sea. An important factor that also allowed to keep the ship afloat is the recently carried out repair, which was carried out on it for the first time in the last 30 years," the department noted.
In the afternoon, personnel who were not involved in the rescue operation were taken to the point of permanent deployment. Military personnel feel good.
According to representatives of the Navy, the ship will be restored "as soon as possible", after which it will begin to perform its combat tasks.
As a reminder, on October 13, the ship "Balta" was damaged near Zmeiny Island, hitting an unknown underwater object during a strong storm. There is no danger of the vessel sinking, although two compartments are filled with water. There are also no casualties among the crew.
Note that this warship is unique. Ego was constructed 34 years ago in Gdansk, Poland. In the same year, 1987, it was launched and commissioned as a demagnetization vessel.
The task of this type of ships is to reduce the action of the own magnetic field of other warships. This increases the reliability of equipment and weapons.
