In the Ministry of Health (Ministry of Health) assume that tense situation with the coronavirus in Ukraine will be observed for even more weeks. After April 15, the level of morbidity may stabilize, but only if quarantine rules are observed.
However, the department still rejects the possibility of introducing a nationwide lockdown. About it in the interview OBOZREVATEL Minister of Health Maksym Stepanov said.
"According to our strategy, we we do not see the need to introduce a national quarantine. We have an adaptive quarantine, when restrictions are strengthened on the territory of a specific region depending on the epidemic situation there. The introduction of the "red" level is completely transparent. There are clear criteria for the level, dynamics of hospitalizations, testing and identification of cases. If at least two of them exceed the norm for three days in a row, the region moves to the red level," he reminded.
The head of the Ministry of Health noted that for the time being the introduction of restrictions "will proceed in this way."
As for forecasts for the incidence of COVID-19, Stepanov believes the next 10 days will be tense for Ukraine, growth will continue until April 15. Then, according to him, this level can be stabilized.
"But that's all provided quarantine is observed. Even if the epidemic stops on April 15 and we see a decrease in morbidity, especially in the "red" regions, this does not mean that everything is over. Easter and May holidays are ahead, so we will ask citizens to completely avoid mass gatherings. Because then we will again have outbreaks of the coronavirus disease", the minister emphasized.
