The Minister of Health, Viktor Lyashko, said that over the past two weeks, the number of coronavirus patients in Ukraine has been gradually decreasing, which indicates that the country has passed the peak of morbidity.
"For the first time in the last 11 weeks, for 2 weeks in a row, we see a decrease in the number of cases, the number of hospitalizations and the number of deaths. This indicates that we as a country have already passed the peak and we predict that we will have a decline. But, looking at the situation in the European Union, in the countries of Europe where rapid growth has started, there is a big risk that there may be a second wave that will start right away," he warned.
According to Lyashko, 40% of Ukrainians are now vaccinated with at least one dose.
The Minister added that the question of the third booster dose of the vaccine will be raised when at least 60% of Ukrainians are vaccinated with one dose of the vaccine against the coronavirus.
