In 2 hours, 177 people registered Covid-19 in the Odesa region. Now the region is in second place in terms of the number of patients. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Health.
In the last day, 24 patients died, 414 people recovered.
In Ukraine, 19 people were diagnosed with Covid-25 in one day, 063 died, and 793 recovered.
The most cases occurred in Dnipropetrovsk (2616), Odesa (2177), Kharkiv (1535), Lviv (1465) regions, and Kyiv (1426).
The Ministry of Health explained the high death rate from the coronavirus compared to other countries in the world. According to the Minister of Health Viktor Lyashko, this is primarily due to the fact that many countries have already passed the peak of morbidity, unlike Ukraine.
Lyashko admitted that the number of fatalities in Ukraine is really high.
"But we compare it with the same fatal cases in other countries in this specific period of time. Although the rise in morbidity, waves, occur in different countries in different ways," explained the minister.
According to him, France was experiencing a rise in morbidity two months ago.
"If we want to compare, then it is necessary to transfer to a certain amount of the population, for example, to 10 thousand or the number of infected people. And it should be compared with the countries that at that time also have a rise in morbidity," he added.
