ABOUT ODESSA GOVERNMENT AND CORRUPTION
"Odessa is a major transport hub, four ports, these people are responsive and hard-working. But the city needs a real leadership that will behave justly. The government should not put sticks in the wheels of good, decent entrepreneurs. Like, for example, us today.
Corruption in Odessa is not only when they take bribes of hundreds of thousands, millions of dollars. They still demand to "share" the business. They say: we will not give permission, you will not build, you will not invest, we will block you. All these facts are in NABU, SBU, and the Presidential Administration.
But there is no good without good - when they stopped giving us permits here, we started building outside of Ukraine. And now we have a huge number of construction sites in various countries of the world, starting from England and ending with Arab countries - in Tunisia, Jordan, Morocco, etc. And there, by the way, we earn more and better.
Obtaining permits is the most difficult and difficult in Odessa, and the most difficult conditions for business are also in Odessa. But since today our business is not only here and not only in Ukraine - in fact, now 80% of our business is outside the country - it almost does not concern us directly. We remain the No. 1 company in Odessa for investments, construction, patronage, and good deeds, and we will keep this baton going, no matter what anyone says or does. ABOUT THE NEW PROJECT
"In the coming days, we will submit documents to the city hall for the construction of a facility of such a level that there has never been and is not on the territory of Ukraine.
I recently suffered an illness, and I confess that even the doctors advised me to go to Germany, France, America for treatment. But I made a decision and was treated in Ukraine - in Kyiv and Odessa.
Now I want to build such a medical center that will change the mindset of Odessans. So that no one else says: go to Germany and France for treatment... On the contrary, Germany, England, and the USA will all come to us, in Odessa. This will be a fundamental object. I take on this responsibility and we will build it."
From the editors. We note that the construction of a modern high-class medical facility is really very necessary for the city and the country. And first of all, the country needs oncological institutions, because it is cancer that is the main (along with cardiovascular diseases) cause of death of Ukrainians. As of the beginning of 2021, there are 1 million 187,6 thousand (!) patients with oncological diseases registered in medical institutions in Ukraine.
In Odessa, there are a lot of abandoned, closed and inactive sanatoriums, which are slowly being built up with cottages or high-rise buildings. And if instead of another new construction on the territory of the destroyed sanatorium, for example, the Chkalov sanatorium, a modern high-class hospital will be built, then probably even the most strict critics will remain silent.
