Ukraine is critically dependent on international aid

Our country is currently critically dependent on international aid - without external funding, it would have had a financial collapse long ago and would have been defeated.

According to reported The Ministry of Reintegration, with reference to data from the Kiel Institute of the World Economy, from the beginning of the full-scale invasion, i.e. from February 24, 2022 to the present, Ukraine in general received international aid in the amount of almost 170 billion euros.

This is the total amount, which includes both, actually, purely military support (40% of the total amount) and financial assistance, which makes up half of the amount of funding. The rest - about 10% - is a humanitarian component.

According to danimi Ukraine Support Tracker, 42 countries have become donors to Ukraine, as well as European institutions, the IMF and the World Bank.

The largest donor, of course, was the United States of America - from this country we received 71 billion euros, of which 43 billion is military aid.

The countries that are part of the European Union allocated almost 62 billion euros, most of which - 36 billion - went to the needs of the Ukrainian budget.

Ukraine received another 23 billion from Great Britain, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, China, Japan, Norway, South Korea, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey and India. The rest - about 13 billion euros - was provided to us by international financial organizations.

Also in 2023, more than 350 vulnerable people received financial assistance from the ICRC to meet their daily needs, provide for their families and rebuild their lives.
