The fall in the gross domestic product (GDP) of Ukraine in the third quarter of 2020 amounted to 3,5% compared to the same period in 2019, while in the second quarter the decline was equal to 11,4%, and in the first - 1,3%, such a preliminary estimate was published by Gosstat on Monday.
According to it, in relation to the second quarter of this year, the GDP in the third quarter grew (taking into account the seasonal factor) by 8,5%.
According to the statistics office, GDP growth in the fourth quarter of 2019 was 1,5%, in the third - 3,9%, in the second - 4,7%, and in the first quarter - 2,9%.
At the beginning of November, the Ministry of Economy estimated that the GDP of Ukraine fell by 3,6% in the third quarter of this year, and by 5,5% in the nine months as a whole, and confirmed the forecast of a 2020% decline in the economy in 4,8.
In October, the National Bank estimated a decrease in the country's GDP in the third quarter of 2020 at the level of 6,2% and kept the forecast of a 6% decline in the economy at the end of the current year.
