The Administration of US President Joe Biden has warned the leaders of the US Congress that the allocated funds for assistance to Ukraine will run out by the end of this year and that this may contribute to Russia's victories. The publication writes "Financial Times«.
Director of the US Office of Management and Budget Shalanda Young wrote to the leaders of the Republican and Democratic parties: "Without action from Congress, by the end of the year we will run out of resources to purchase more weapons and equipment for Ukraine, as well as to provide equipment from the US military stockpile."
She emphasized that the refusal of the Congress to approve the new support "will bring Kyiv to its knees on the battlefield" and also "increase the probability of Russia's military victories."
"There is no magic pot of funding that will help us cope with this task. We're out of money and almost out of time."
Shalanda Young reminded that the packages of military aid to Ukraine from the USA have already become smaller.
"If Ukraine's economy collapses, they won't be able to continue fighting, period. Putin understands this well, which is why Russia has made the destruction of the Ukrainian economy a central element of its strategy – which you can see in its attacks on Ukraine's grain exports and energy infrastructure.”
Young also said that the money for Ukraine will benefit the American economy.
