In Ukraine, the date of Christmas and two other holidays has been changed

The innovations will come into effect on September 1

The Verkhovna Rada supported the change in the date of Christmas and two other well-known holidays in Ukraine. The relevant decision was adopted by parliamentarians on July 14.

9431 People's Deputies voted for the relevant draft law No. 241.

The new dates of holidays according to the decision of the Verkhovna Rada are now:

  • December 25 — Christmas (instead of January 07)
  • July 15 — Ukrainian Statehood Day (instead of July 28): when the memory of the outstanding state-builder, the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince of Kyiv Volodymyr the Great, is commemorated.
  • October 1 — Day of defenders of Ukraine (instead of October 14): commemoration of the Day of the Protection of the Holy Mother of God associated with Ukrainian military traditions.

"This law will be signed after July 28, so the Day of Ukrainian Statehood will be July 28 this month." - reported on his Telegram channels People's Deputy Yaroslav Zhelezniak.

That is, all innovations will come into effect on September 1.
