In Ukraine, a large network for the production and sale of fakes was exposed (video)

Fraudsters counterfeited wine, jamon, butter and candies of well-known brands.

The cyber police exposed a criminal group in the Internet trade in counterfeit food products. Fraudsters in underground shops produced olive oil, wine, jamon, pistachios, candies, tea and coffee. They marked the goods with labels of well-known brands and sold them under the guise of original production. This is reported by the Cyber ​​Police Department of the National Police of Ukraine. 

18 people are suspected of illegally manufacturing falsified food products.

Production workshops and warehouses were located in Kyiv, Lviv, Khmelnytskyi and Kyiv regions. In the specified premises, the defendants produced, stored, packaged goods in packages with the names and logos of well-known global manufacturers.

The products were sold in online stores, on classifieds sites and in large wholesale markets throughout Ukraine. In addition, sales of fakes were also sold in neighboring countries.

Law enforcement officers conducted 44 searches in production shops, warehouses, offices, cars and places of residence of the suspects. They seized equipment for the production of olive oil, pistachios and wine, containers for bottling products, about 60 tons of raw materials, 160 tons of finished counterfeit products, printing with brand logos, devices for packaging tea and coffee, equipment, as well as 4,5 million hryvnias.

On this fact, criminal proceedings were initiated under the article "illegal use of a mark for goods and services, a company name, a qualified indication of the origin of goods." Investigative actions are ongoing.
