Today, the new rector, doctor of law, police colonel Dmytro Shvets, who until recently held the position of the first vice-rector of the Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, was presented to the staff and students at the Odessa University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
Inna Yashchuk, director of the Department of Education, Science and Sports of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, introduced the new head of the institution.
The event was attended by: first deputy director of the Department of Education, Science and Sports of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, police colonel Anton Syzonenko; People's Deputy of Ukraine Oleksiy Leonov; First Deputy Head of the Odesa Regional State Administration Boris Voloshenkov; Oleg Radkovskyi, the first deputy chairman of the Odesa Regional Council; head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Odesa, police general of the third rank, Mykola Semenyshyn.
The Head of the Department began her speech with a moment of silence in memory of the defenders of Ukraine.
"Changes are taking place in the university's jubilee year (100th anniversary). I think that you, dear team, will become even stronger and even better," Inna Yashchuk emphasized.
In turn, Oleg Radkovskyi, the first deputy chairman of the Odesa Regional Council, noted that a new leader is always a new round of development and achievements.
"The Odesa Regional Council constantly supports the units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the region within the framework of the long-term program "Safe Odesa". We are always there, and you can count on us," the politician added.
The newly appointed rector thanked the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine for their high trust.
"I am convinced that the traditions that exist in the institution of higher education will be multiplied and enriched in today's conditions, and our institution will be truly leading, powerful and multidisciplinary in the south of our country," Dmytro Shvets added.
On the instructions of the Head of the National Police of Ukraine and the staff of the National Security Service of Ukraine, the head of the regional police Mykola Semenyshyn also congratulated Dmytro Shvets on his appointment to the post of rector. He noted that university graduates are the pride of the law enforcement system of our country.
