At Boryspil airport, criminals who tried to import more than 7 tons of counterfeit electronic cigarettes into Ukraine were detained. This was reported to the SBU.
The cost of the goods is more than UAH 16 million.
The organizers of the scheme tried to import the cargo secretly and in the future wanted to sell electronic cigarettes without excise tax stamps on the domestic market. Taxable goods were planned to be distributed in the Ukrainian domestic market.
"Investigative actions are ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the illegal activity and bring to justice the persons involved in its organization," the SBU notes.
Now all those involved will be brought to justice.
