The SBU detained an agent of the Russian Federation who was collecting data on the Armed Forces of the Donbass. In particular, she acted in the interests of the terrorist organization "DNR". The counterintelligence agents of the special service were engaged in exposing the woman. This was reported by the SBU press service.
A resident of the Volnovakh district (Donetsk region) drew maps with detailed information on the placement of equipment, trenches, and dugouts used by Ukrainian defenders, and then passed this information on to the curator of militants controlled by the Russian intelligence services. She did it professionally, as she had an education in the field of topography. Basically, information was transmitted via electronic communication channels.
At the end of 2020, the attacker was recruited by her acquaintance, who went over to the side of the occupiers. She agreed to carry out the "tasks" of the militants "because of her own ideological convictions and the means that paid her."
"The curator of the agency became the deputy head of the counter-intelligence department of the militants, who are directly under the control of the Russian special services. He is a traitor, a former employee of one of the Ukrainian law enforcement agencies, and since 2014 he has been wanted for desertion," the message says.
The criminal was detained at the Novotroitskoe checkpoint when she was on her way to the curator for new instructions and money. She did not want to receive them on a bank card because of the conspiracy.
During the searches, security forces found mobile phones and a laptop with evidence of illegal activity, as well as maps and diagrams of the positions of the Ukrainian military.
In total, the Kremlin agent faces up to 15 years in prison. The investigation is currently ongoing.
