The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted a resolution that provides for a 10-fold increase in fines for environmental damage. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources.
"We are establishing a new approach for calculating the damage that can be caused to the nature reserve fund of Ukraine. According to the calculation formula, the amount of damage increases 10 times and will be indexed annually. Such measures will help protect these territories and preserve their biodiversity," said Acting Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine Ruslan Strelets.
You can collect berries and mushrooms only for your own needs and outside the protected areas. Yes, for one illegally cut mushroom you will have to pay UAH 75, for medicinal herbs — UAH 30 per flower, berries — UAH 373/kg, nuts — UAH 1154/kg.
Fines for illegal fishing (for 1 catfish you will have to pay UAH 20), deer hunting (UAH 195), and red hare (UAH 305) have also increased.
For a felled or damaged tree, the fine will amount to UAH 85, for the destruction of peony bushes — UAH 796.
