The head of the Committee of Economists of Ukraine, candidate of economic sciences Andriy Novak commented to the ElitExpert agency about the order of the Ministry of Defense on the registration of women in the military, which caused a wide public outcry.
"The main thing to understand is not mobilization into the army. The state simply wants to know who is who in the country, given that 3 to 6 million Ukrainians are employed abroad. This is a kind of population census - it is necessary to find out how many people we have, what specialties they have, what professional experience they have, and, if necessary, so that the armed forces can attract appropriate specialists to perform certain tasks. It is not about women being taken to the front. Even men are not sent to war unprepared - there are mostly either contract workers or trained fighters. So that no one is sent to the front," Andrey Novak concluded.
