ElitExpert continues the series of publications about humanitarian and volunteer organizations of the Odesa region. Today we are talking about the Charity Fund "Land of Mercy" and our interlocutor is the founder of the fund Oleksandr Kozarenko.
He talks about the main directions and activities of this Foundation, which showed itself well during the first waves of the coronavirus, and now helps thousands of Odessans, Mykolaivites, people who have become forced migrants and even residents of temporarily occupied territories.
ABOUT THE MISSION OF THE FOUNDATION
Volunteering today is our front, where we bring victory closer to victory thanks to our activities. Now our main activity is helping people who were forced to leave their homes and are temporarily staying in Odessa.
We recently opened a headquarters where people turn to for help every day. We also travel with humanitarian aid to Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, deliver products to the temporarily occupied territory of Kherson. We provide military chaplains who deliver humanitarian aid to the villages of the Mykolaiv Oblast that have just been liberated from the occupiers.
ABOUT WORK IN WARTIME
Our fund was created during the first pandemic, when we helped those in need in Odesa, we distributed food packages. When the war started, we also decided to help people affected by hostilities, displaced people and people with disabilities. They also sewed uniforms for soldiers. When the water supply was disrupted in Mykolaiv, we announced a levy. Thanks to the caring citizens of Odessa, we collected and sent 300 tons of drinking water to the residents of the city.
Working with a large number of people who fled the war is a colossal psychological burden. It is important to always be in a good mood, to inspire people's trust, and the desire to ask for help again. No one canceled the human factor, there are many people and everyone has their own story. You need to be patient with everyone. And there were no difficulties as such. Adjusted logistics and coordinated work of the team always give the desired result.
ABOUT COMPETITION
We did not face competition in the philanthropic or philanthropic environment. Each fund has its own segment of activity; everyone provides the help for which there are enough resources and strength. And to take part in local wars at such a time is, to say the least, unwise. We are a peaceful non-conflict organization.
ABOUT PARTNERS
Our main partner is World Central Kitchen, an organization that provides food packages, which we then distribute to displaced people. Volunteers_911 are the volunteers through whom we receive this help. We also cooperated with the headquarters of Kurs Odesa BF, distributed aid on the basis of their headquarters, and also sent tons of drinking water to Mykolaiv. There are still many funds through which we transfer aid to other cities. A huge thank you to everyone for their cooperation and for the great work that we all do together.
ABOUT TRUST
Our organization is officially registered. All activities of the foundation are broadcast on social networks. Also, every volunteer in the headquarters has a certificate. And each product set issued by us is entered into the general database. So everything is legal and "clean".
We want to tell every potential donor and benefactor that helping is easy! Now we are all choosing our victory, each on his own front. All organizations perform their work at the expense of charitable contributions.
