In Minsk, thousands of women participate in the solidarity march, which takes place in the area of Victory Square. This is reported BELAPAN on Saturday, August 29th.
It is stated that the event was announced on social networks as the "Grand Parade of Women's Peacekeeping Forces", which is being held in order "to remind men in the security forces that no housewife will wash the blood of the innocent off the shoulders."
By 16.00:XNUMX p.m., hundreds of women with flowers began to line up around the square. Traffic on the adjacent site was blocked after some time. Cars and police minibuses drove up. The police began to warn through megaphones that the event was not sanctioned by the Municipal Executive Committee. Riot police detained at least three men without using violence.
The women came to Pobedy Square in about half an hour, and gathered on both sides of Nezalezhnosti Avenue. The immediate center of the Victory Square, near the obelisk, is fenced off with turnstiles.
At 16.15:16.20 p.m., the number of participants increased to several thousand, they began chanting "Not sorry!", "Leave!". At XNUMX:XNUMX p.m., the women marched along the sidewalks in the direction of Oktyabrskaya Square.
After a few hundred meters, the women came out onto the roadway of Independence Avenue, where several police minibuses and riot police blocked their way. The police asked them to get off the roadway, after which the marchers turned towards Pobedy Square, chanting "Shame!" and "This is our city!".
The police continues to warn about the illegality of the event, urging the participants to disperse.
