Zelensky commented on the court's decision on the unconstitutional appointment of the NABU head

The authorities take note of the court's decision

The President's Office commented on the decision of the Constitutional Court on the unconstitutional decree of the previous president, Petro Poroshenko, on the appointment of NABU director Artyom Sytnyk.

Thus, Zelensky said that they take note of the court's decision and considered the current situation to be the result of "an ill-considered, hasty, and often speculative practice of personnel appointments at the time, which ran counter to the Constitution of Ukraine in the formation of the most important element of the anti-corruption architecture in the country."

The President's Office emphasized that they are waiting for Acting director of NABU "effective implementation of anti-corruption policy" up to the election of a new head of the department by holding a competition.

— We also have no doubt that the NABU directorate is organizing work today in such a way that all new legal circumstances were taken into account, and operational and investigative activities did not stop due to the clarification of the organizational structure and its harmonization with the Constitution of Ukraine. For us, only one priority is extremely important — a tough and uncompromising fight against corruption at all levels with a binding result, the message says.
