The European Commission has proposed recommendations according to which vaccinated travelers from any third countries will be allowed to enter the countries of the European Union.
This was stated by European Commissioner for Internal Affairs Ylva Johansson at a briefing in Brussels, writes "European truth«.
"We will have new rules for travel to the European Union from third countries from March 1. Now we have the same rules for necessary trips, when people can always come to the EU in case of urgent need. Also, now we have a list of countries from which non-essential travel is allowed, that is, for travel, it includes 20 countries. But now we will move from the principle of the list of countries to an individual approach. This means that we will allow all vaccinated people to come to the EU," Johansson said.
The European Commissioner explained that if a person is vaccinated with vaccines recognized in the EU, he can come to the European Union at any time.
In the case of vaccination with drugs approved by the WHO, but not by the European regulator, EU countries are also recommended to admit such travelers. But these travelers will have to take a PCR test before or after arriving in the country.
"People who have a certificate confirming recovery from the disease can also come after passing a PCR test. Children under the age of 18 can come with a test," she said.
From January 10, the certificate of vaccination of third countries will be recognized if no more than 9 months have passed since the second dose, otherwise it is necessary to receive an additional dose.
"If your vaccination is older than 9 months as of January 10, you cannot come to the EU from a third country without receiving a booster dose," Johansson clarified.
