The president of Kyrgyzstan announced a demand for a power grab

Jeenbekov called on everyone to put the fate of the country above political ambitions and return to the legal field

President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov made a statement on the political situation in the country on October 6. This is stated in the address of the president.

According to him, last night some political forces tried to illegally seize state power in Kyrgyzstan.

"Using the election results as a reason, they violated public order. They disturbed the peaceful life of citizens. They disobeyed law enforcement officers, beat doctors and damaged buildings," Jeenbekov said.

He said that he ordered the law enforcement agencies not to open fire and not to shed blood, so as not to endanger the life of a single citizen.

"So far, we have taken all possible measures to prevent the situation from aggravating. Peace in the state, stability of society is more valuable than any deputy's mandate," the message reads.

Jeenbekov suggested that the Central Election Commission thoroughly investigate the violations and, if necessary, annul the election results.

"I call on the leaders of the political parties to calm down their supporters and lead them away from the crowd. I call on all my compatriots to keep the peace and not give in to the appeals of provocative forces. The peace of our country and the safety of our society are the most important things. I urge all forces to put the fate of the country higher than political ambitions and return to the legal field," said the Kyrgyz president.

We will remind, on the evening of October 5 in the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, mass protests of disagreement with the results of the past parliamentary elections began. Several opposition parties declared that they do not recognize the results of the elections due to mass violations and falsifications during the electoral process. After a two-hour standoff, the protestors managed to break into the parliament building, which also houses the administration of the head of the Kyrgyz state. As a result of the disturbances, more than 130 people were injured, a patrol car of the Ministry of Internal Affairs burned down, and six ambulances were damaged.
