The parties accuse each other of escalating the conflict

Armenia and Azerbaijan have resumed hostilities - fighting is going on in the region of Nagorno-Karabakh.

As reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, from the early morning of September 27, the Azerbaijani side began intensive shelling along the entire length of the contact line, targeting also peaceful settlements, including the capital Stepanakert.

"We strongly condemn the aggression of the military-political leadership of Azerbaijan against the Republic of Artsakh. Armenian parties will take decisive action with the full potential to ensure the safety of the people of Artsakh and give a commensurate political and military response. The military and political leadership of Azerbaijan bears all responsibility for the aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan," the Armenian Foreign Ministry said.

At the same time, Azerbaijan assigned responsibility for the start of hostilities to Armenia.

On the website of the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan, it is reported that in order to suppress the combat activity of the armed forces of Armenia and ensure the safety of the civilian population, the command of the Azerbaijani army decided to start a counter-offensive operation.

"Personnel and tank units with the support of units of missile and artillery troops, front-line aviation and unmanned aerial vehicles, discovered a large number of manpower, military objects and military equipment of the armed forces of Armenia, located on the front line and in the depth of the enemy's defense, destroy them", - written in the message of the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan.

According to Azerbaijan, 12 units of anti-aircraft missile complexes "OSA" of the air defense unit of Armenia were destroyed in various directions. A combat helicopter of the Air Force of Azerbaijan was shot down in the Terter direction, the crew members are alive.
