Armenia has "frozen" its participation in the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), where Russia plays a dominant role. This was announced by the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikola Pashinyan, in an interview with the TV channel France 24.
He noted that Armenia "froze" its membership in the CSTO, as the collective security agreement was not implemented with regard to Yerevan, especially in 2021-2022.
"We have suspended our participation. Let's see what happens next." Pashinyan said.
At the same time, the prime minister said that the issue of closing the Russian military base in Armenia "is not on the agenda."
Pashinyan also criticized the Russian government, saying that a few months ago, Moscow "openly called on the Armenian population to overthrow the government." He believes that the Russian propaganda against him is not decreasing.
