The famous American rally driver and showman Ken Block died in a snowmobile accident in Utah.
"It is with deep regret that we can confirm that Ken Block has died in a snowmobile accident. Ken was a pioneer and a legend. We will miss him incredibly," the Hoonigan Racing Division team said.
According to the police, the American athlete fell from the snowmobile during a steep descent and died from his injuries. His snowmobile overturned and landed right on top of him.
Block was 55 years old. Ken was not only an athlete. He starred in many shows (even as an "icon" for the Need For Speed game).
The American was widely known in rally racing and repeatedly won at various stages. He also competed in motocross, skateboarding and snowboarding.
Ken Block, together with his business partner Damon Way, founded the famous sports brand DC Shoes in 1994. The racer is survived by his wife Lucy and three children.
