The well-known football coach Roman Grigorchuk, who previously worked in "Chernomorets" (and led the "Seamen" to the Europa League playoffs), as well as in "Gabal", "Astana" and "Shakhtar" from Soligorsk, may return to the Odessa club.
According to some information, the parties have already agreed on the contract, and the appointment of Hryhorchuk will be announced in the next few days. At the same time, the football experts polled by ElitExpert unanimously affirm that they do not yet have information about the possible appointment of Hryhorchuk.
In turn, the press service of Chernomorets announced to the ElitExpert agency the official position of the current head coach of the Sailors, Yuriy Moroz.
Commenting on the information about his possible dismissal, Moroz said only that under his leadership "the team is improving from game to game, the team is competitive, and that makes me happy." On a clarifying question about what "Chernomorets" plans to change the head coach, Moroz said: "I have no comments here."
At the same time, on the condition of anonymity, a source in "Chernomorets" said that the return of Hryhorchuk is practically settled.
It has already been announced to the football players that the club will refuse to hire players. They plan to complete the Odesa team at the expense of their own pupils and full-fledged transfers.
Hryhorchuk himself maintains an intrigue, does not give comments and only indirectly confirmed the information that he will lead "Chernomorets", saying on the air of one of the radio stations that "There is no smoke without fire."
Roman Hryhorchuk's last place of work was "Shakhter" from Soligorsk, which he left in July of this year. As a reminder, the coach already worked in "Chernomorets" from 2010 to 2014.
The possible return of the coach is connected with the transfer of "Chernomorets" from the hands of Leonid Klymov to the hands of new owners in the near future.
At the moment, the coach of "Chernomorets" is Yury Moroz. He causes rejection among the fans of the team, who are unhappy with the fact that the Odesa team has now become a branch of Kyiv "Dynamo" due to the overwhelming majority of players rented from "Dynamo".
The heat of passion reached such a peak that the other day angry fans of "Chernomorets" attacked the bus with the team, pelted it with eggs and firecrackers and seriously damaged the vehicle.
At the same time, Roman Grigorchuk is a legendary coach for the "sailors" and their fans. It was he who, in the early 2010s, brought back the glory to the team hanging at the bottom of the standings, and under his leadership, "Chernomorets" made it to the playoffs of the UEFA Europa League for the first time in its history, beating international teams of a higher class.
At that time, only the champion of France - Olympique Lyonnais stopped "Chernomorets" due to one goal scored at the very end of the match.
The financial crisis and political instability of 2014 led to the departure of Hryhorchuk from the post of coach of the Seamen. Together with him, almost the entire coaching staff and the club's leading players left the club, after which "Chernomorets" quickly slipped into the second-tier teams, despite the constantly changing head coaches.
