Transcarpathian smugglers illegally deliver cigarettes to Romania by crossing the Menchul mountain, which is 1 meters high. It is only 998 meters lower than the highest mountain in Ukraine - Hoverly (63 meters).
For 1 walk in difficult conditions, they receive 100-150 euros. Smugglers make 3-4 trips every week, thus "earning" about 1-200 euros per month.
The video of the "flight" was published by journalist Vitaliy Glagola. He claims that one of the smugglers personally handed over the recording to him under the condition of anonymity.
According to Glagolya, the route begins in the village of Delovoe, located 190 km from Uzhhorod. Further – crossing through Menchul to Romania and returning by the same route.
"Smugglers start from the area of the village of Delovoe towards the Romanian border and pass through Mount Menchul. There, the goods are left in the agreed place and returned the same way," the journalist said.
