A veteran of the law enforcement agencies from Izmail, Georgy Mitev, became the prize-winner of the Cup of Ukraine in athletics. The competitions were held in Kyiv on December 18 and 19. Veterans from all over the country participated in it. This was reported in the press service of the State Government of the Odesa region.
Georgy Ivanovich won the first place in the 75-meter sport walk and the second place in the 5-meter sport walk at the competitions in the 000+ age category.
Georgy Ivanovich Mitev is a well-known person in Izmail. He worked as a precinct officer for more than 20 years and now, being on a well-deserved rest, instills love for a healthy lifestyle in the younger generation and defends the honor of Odesa region in the team of the police sports club "Patriot".
"Positive, energetic and cheerful, he inspires people by his example, going for morning runs every day. Being a leader is a difficult job, and it's up to him," employees of the Izmail District Police Department say about Georgiy Ivanovich.
