As part of the large-scale replacement of outdated networks and equipment, the Infoksvodokanal company is actively working on one of the main water pipes, which provides drinking water to the residents of the Central Bus Station and Moldavanka area. This was reported in the press service of "Infoksvodokanal".
The steel pipeline has reached its operational limit, therefore, so that residents do not suffer from frequent accidents and disconnection, it is replaced with a new one. It is planned to lay more than 500 meters of new polyethylene pipe with a diameter of 500 mm, the service life of which will be at least 50 years.
In addition, modern shut-off valves will be installed, which, if necessary, will allow for local shutdowns. Employees of the technical service will build new wells and a camera, as well as install a new fire hydrant.
The modern method of horizontal directional drilling is used during the works. Thanks to this, it is not necessary to block traffic, create inconvenience for pedestrians, and also cut off the water supply for a long time.
Work on the renewal of the water supply on Melnytskaya Street is planned to be completed by the end of August.
As Igor Lysenko, director of the Infoxvodokanal branch, noted: "Today, new sewage and water pipes are being laid in almost all areas of the city to replace worn ones. For this, they use modern and reliable materials from the best manufacturers. Employees of "Infoksvodokanal" have already replaced more than 193 kilometers of worn networks and continue these works, since high-quality and uninterrupted water supply and drainage of the city of Odessa is key for the water channel.
