The lockdown in Lviv was extended until April 4

City and regional hospitals are in urgent need of nurses

The Commission on Emergency Situations of Lviv decided to extend the enhanced quarantine in the city until April 4. Lviv Mayor Andrey Sadovy reported this on his Facebook page.

He said that over the past day, 63 people with coronavirus have been admitted to city hospitals. Only three people were discharged.

"We are working on increasing the number of beds. Today they decided to deploy a temporary hospital on the basis of the premises of the medical university, which they rent to the emergency hospital. We appealed to the Ministry of Health with a request to include the Orlyk Children's Hospital in the list of medical institutions that treat children with coronavirus. We are starting cooperation with the railway hospital. They are ready to receive patients, but the city will give them the necessary amount of oxygen concentrators," Sadovy wrote.

And he noted that, in addition to additional beds, city and regional hospitals are in dire need of nurses.

"Over the past two days, we have received 350 calls from doctors from all over Ukraine who are ready to help in this difficult struggle. Now we are developing a mechanism for additional premiums for all doctors working with COVID-19," said the mayor of Lviv.

As a reminder, the lockdown was introduced in Lviv on March 19, and it was planned that the strict quarantine would last until March 28.
